The internet has no shortage of streaming services; ranging from music services such as Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal to video streaming with giants like Netflix, Vudu, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and many more. Streaming services have quickly gained attention due to their wide variety of options in tv shows and movies and reduced costs for such services, which inevitably reduces the need of standard cable services. Older crowds still continue to purchase cable, as younger crowds continuously seek cheaper outlets like Hulu.

Product

Hulu is a video streaming service that offers a wide range of live and on-demand tv shows and movies for a monthly fee. Users can stream anywhere from multiple devices, for as long as they wish, and as often as they want. Not only does Hulu offer its own shows, but with other partnerships Hulu is able to provide shows from large cable networks such as ABC, NBC Universal, Fox, and more. Using an algorithm it's also able to build suggestion based from previously watched programs.

Price

Hulu has two decently priced plans. The differentiating factor between the plans is the limitation in commercials and ads. The first plan allows subscribers access to all of its shows and movies with commercials and ads included, which starts at $7.99 per month. The next plan offers the subscriber access to its expansive library of shows and movies for $11.99, however it has limited commercials; differentiating it from the cheaper plan. Hulu offers additional subscriptions that can be added to the plan for an added fee: HBO for $14.99, CINEMAX for $9.99, SHOWTIME for $10.99, and STARZ for $8.99. The streaming service also allows the subscriber to stream live tv with ads for $39.99, and Live TV without ads for $43.99

Promotions

Recognizing the struggle of the average student, Hulu offers a student bundle for $4.99. Not only is the video streaming service offered, but subscribers are allowed access to the music streaming service Spotify and SHOWTIME all for a fixed price. Not only does it promote the student bundle, but it also gives user a first timer free trial, allowing subscribers access to all of its video library but limited interaction with some of its purchasable perks.

Place and Time

Streaming services like Hulu are offered on a wide spectrum of devices and can be accessed from anywhere and everywhere as long as that viewer has an account to log onto. Hulu can be accessed on the go on devices such as a phone, laptop, or tablet, or on stationary devices like a desktop and standard tv setup. Hulu is also available on gaming devices such as the Microsoft XBOX and Sony PlayStation. In addition to the previously listed devices, it can be streamed from TV sticks such as the Amazon Fire Stick and Kodi. Based on the subscription, users are able to watch from one device or stream from multiple devices for a fee.

Process

Hulu is easily accessible and one of its defining features is the easiness of navigating the page. It gives an assortment of titles to choose from based on the genre of the program, network, whether it's a tv show or movie, and a search tool is provided for locating titles and even actors that appear in the video. It's also designed to display programs that are unfinished to programs that were suggested through the algorithm.

Physical Environment

Hulu is a digital service so the physical aspect of it would be the device it's streamed on, be it a mobile device, desktop, or tv. Another physical aspect of Hulu would be its screen display which is easily navigable with the swipe of your finger or press of remote.

People

Being that it is a streaming service, Hulu doesn't have physical interaction with its consumers or subscribers. However if needed, subscribers can email representatives if they're having technical problems, and they're free to call also. Hulu also sends emails to its subscribers.
